Enhance your images with eye-catching call-to-action captions. Don’t forget to tell your visitors what they need to do next :) With Image+ Captions you can design any number of captions to drive visitor engagement and action. Each caption can be styled automatically, with a render start time and an optional end time. Image+ for WordPress waits until your image is in view before starting to reveal your captions. Position each caption exactly as you wish, and format your caption with a font type, size, style and color of your choosing. Text colors and backgrounds are suggested using AI-powered recommendations. A unique benefit of using Image+ for WordPress over regular images, is that each caption can have a unique link. This is useful when you want to reveal separate “Add to cart” or “Checkout” captions which act as buttons, as an example.

How-To Add Captions

Assumptions: (i) You have installed and activated Image+; (ii) You have navigated to the Image+ Library and added an image to Image+ ; (iii) you have navigated to the editor for your target Image+

User Note: If you don't see the Image+ Enhancement Settings, including the Captions settings, ensure you have selected your Image+ for editing (by clicking on the main image whilst in add or edit mode) and also ensure you are viewing the non-Baseline image (by clicking on any image that isn't the Baseline image in the right-hand column, "Block" panel).

1. Add One Or More Captions Text Blocks

Add your captions in the first text input field at the top of the Captions Settings. Text added will render on the main Image+ preview image. You can add as many additional caption text blocks as required, by clicking “Add” and entering your additional captions text.

The following captions formatting settings outlined below relate to the currently selected caption block. The caption block selected is highlighted as active and you can click on the text of any captions text field to select and format the detailed settings below accordingly.

2. Set Duration

Add any number of captions, each having a Start Time and optionally an End Time. When no End Time is provided, the caption will remain displayed on your image.

That’s why Image+ for WordPress waits until your image is in view before starting to reveal your captions. The benefits of revealing an eye-catching sequence of captions would otherwise be wasted if your image is out of view. You can reload this page to see this working with the examples.

3. Set Position

Use the grid to quickly snap a caption into position, or use the sliders for pixel-perfect manual positioning. Captions are previewed in real-time as you adjust their position.

4. Edit Font

i) Font face: the font face or font type can be selected from a vast font catalog that ships with with Image+. One can select a font from a curated font library in the second drop down Font Menu or use the 1st drop down font library menu to narrow font choices down to a particular aesthetic category e.g. Casual, Contemporary, Daring, Formal, Fun, Futuristic, Graceful, Handwriting, Luxury, Playful, Professional, Retro, Strong and Wistful. You can add more to the catalog on your Image+ Settings page, if you have other favorite fonts that are used by your brand. Captions are previewed in real-time as you change the font, so you can quickly compare.

ii ) Size: Fonts are sized automatically based on the text length and dimensions of your image. If you prefer to adjust the font size manually, no worries, simply uncheck the “Auto” button and use the slider. Captions are previewed in real-time as you change the font size. Use the Style control to adjust the font weight, from Thin to ExtraBold, and to use italics if that is available for your chosen font. Captions are previewed in real-time as you change their font style.

Choose from a selection of Caption Effects including Anaglyph, Emboss, Fire, Fire Animated, Hit The Floor, Neon, Outline, and Shadow Multiple. Captions are previewed in real-time as you change their effects.

5. Set Text Colors & Text Background - Set Manually Or Adopt AI Recommended Colors

Image+ for WordPress automatically analyses your image and suggests background and text colors for your captions. If you prefer to pick your colors manually, no worries, click on the hex codes color box and the color picker will appear. You can specify any color you like. Captions are previewed in real-time as you change the background and text colors.

6. Caption Links

A unique benefit of using Image+ for WordPress over regular images, is that each caption can have a unique link. This is useful when you want to reveal separate “Add to cart” or “Checkout” captions which act as buttons, as an example. Remember the image can also have a default link that is used when captions are not visible, or for areas of the image not used for captions. You can toggle the link to open in a new tab or not using the “Open in new tab” radio button.

7. Saving & Using/Embedding

You can now save the image and use/embed your new enhanced Image+ accordingly.
